Country Singer Randy Travis in Critical Condition

Mark Norris of My Fox Austin has reported that country music legend Randy Travis is in critical condition at a Dallas hospital with a heart condition.

Travis’ publicist said in a statement the famous singer is suffering from viral cardiomyopathy, a heart condition caused by a virus.

Travis was checked into a Dallas hospital on Sunday, according to the publicist.

According to medical experts, the illness an enlarged heart caused by a virus that makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood.

Travis has seen his fair share of trouble with the law in the past year and a half.

Travis awas arrested in February 2012 for public intoxication outside a Sanger church.

Travis pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated in January this year after he was found naked by the side of his car during a August 2012 incident in Grayson County. Travis received two years’ probation for the DWI.

In another incident, Travis got into a fight in the parking of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano in August 2012.

A woman got into an argument with her estranged husband over a child custody dispute and when the argument escalated, Travis got into a physical altercation with the estranged husband.

 

Since the recent passing of country music legend George Jones, the public is still recovering and not looking to morne another passing of a great singer. Travis, 54, should not be glorified for some humanly mistakes he has made. He is a country music legend that has produced and given us some of the greatest American music of all time. With keeping with his roots, Randy Travis is, and will remain, a giant in American country music history.
